BB: You have an interesting name. What is the meaning of Nic Del Mar?
ND: By combining our middle names, Nicole and Marie. Nic Del Mar was born.
BB: Its very rare to find a family owned boutique, is this something you had always dreamed of?
ND: Yes! We’re all really close. Plus our father runs his own business with his family so it was only natural for us to do something together.
BB: Describe your individual style?
ND: (Lyanne) Clean lines, simple, anything classic but with a bohemian feel. ( Jeannette) It depends on the mood I’m feeling that day. My style ranges from retro, boho, surf or simply feminine.
BB: How would you describe the Nic Del Mar Customer?
ND: She’s fashion forward and embraces new styles in swimwear and resortwear. She’s always looking for unique bikinis that fit well and are made from high quality fabrics. She wants to be comfortable at the beach but trendy enough that she can take her Nic del Mar wardrobe from day to night.
BB: What is the secret to finding the right bikini for your body?
ND: When you come to the store try EVERY style of bikini on. Be open to suggestions. A lot of times customers will leave with the bikini they least thought would have the best fit.
BB: What are you excited about this season?
ND: We were most excited for the Mara Hoffman 2012 Collection. We think she is the leading swimwear designer in prints and styles. Her designs are unique and original with a perfect mix of boho and luxury.
BB: Best selling bikini?Dress?

BB: Looking to the new season, what are your favorite trends?
ND: More and more designers are working on making their bikinis seamless which helps with fit. Also, designers are coming up with new ways to wear bikinis. Instead of traditional triangle tops and string bottoms, designers are incorporating ruffles, unique hardware, fringe, leather, etc.
